Miriam Quiambao proves you can get pregnant over 40

Former Miss Universe-Philippines bet Miriam Quiambao announced over the weekend that she’s nine weeks pregnant with her first baby. In an Instagram post, she shared that she and husband Ardy Roberto have been trying and praying to get pregnant for four years, especially now that she’s 43 years old.

“In June 2018, we were resigned that perhaps God will answer our prayers through the miracle of adoption or through IVF but Praise God who is the author of miracles and the creator of life!” she wrote.

Getting pregnant over 40 years old is rare. Baby Center cites that there’s a 40 to 50 percent chance to conceive a baby at 40, but the probability goes down to one to two percent once a woman reaches 43. So it’s really a miracle that Miriam is carrying a bundle of joy right now.

Just like any pregnancy, women in their 40s are expected to maintain a healthy lifestyle to keep themselves and their baby in tip-top shape. Also, regular visits to the doctor are required to ensure that there are no problems. Take note of this if you are still trying and are able to have a baby at this age.

Congratulations, Miriam and Ardy!
