Chrissy Teigen on all the things she loved about ‘Crazy Rich Asians’

We’re still pretty crazy over Crazy Rich Asians and Chrissy Teigen and her family can agree to that. She watched the film with her family (yes, with Luna) over the weekend and shared all of her feelings on Instagram.

Chrissy, being half Thai, couldn’t help but talk about the importance of representation and having her daughter see that on the big screen. “What can I really say about this movie that hasn’t been said by absolutely everyone who has seen it,” she said. Chrissy even said that the movie checked out on all the things crazy, rich, and Asian, but then she got a little more emotional.

“The feeling I got during the credits, watching John [Legend] dance with my little black Asian mashup baby bear Luna tunes, was a feeling I haven’t had at the end of any other movie,” she shared. “Luna, aside from being blown away by the general move-going experience (yep, she’s 13 now. Time flies) looked up at @constancewu’s mother and yelled “Yāy!” (“Grandma” in Thai) because she saw someone who liked like her Yāy. Someone beautiful and aspirational. It was something that simple that made my heart just… warm.”

“It made me happy to see this over-the-top story done in so many angles, some I could totally understand because of my own confusing Asian-American upbringing,” Chrissy continued. And guess what, she also cried during “the most over-the-top aisle walk in the planet,” and the most we can say is, “Same!”

Constance commented on the post and said, “Love!!” partnered with a couple of heart emojis. Harry Shum Jr., who plays Charlie Wu, posted the praying hand emoji. But the best comment (and revelation) would have to come from Kevin Kwan when he said, “Also, does your husband know he’s in my second book China Rich Girlfriend?”

Chrissy goes, “W H A T now he does!!!”

Now we can’t wait for the sequel
