Local showbiz sweetheart Main Mendoza came out on top as the Ultimate Asian Sweetheart of 2018, thanks to her devoted fans.
The online poll which featured 120 nominees, including K-pop artists, sports personalities, models, beauty queens and movie actresses, was a month-long voting period participated by fans across Asia.
Initiated by media platform Starmometer, overall results show Maine garnered a total of 1,485,312 votes in the semi-finals and 757,430 votes in the finals. Placing second in the list was Thailand’s Urassaya Sperbund, who got 401,867 votes in the final polls, followed by Bollywood actress Sanaya Irani of India, South Korea’s Jennie Kim of K-pop group Blackpink, and China’s Shen Yue. Meanwhile, Kim Taehyung of BTS bagged the highest number of votes as Ultimate Asian Heartthrob of 2018.
