You learn something new every day, and today—courtesy of former PCOO Asec Mocha Uson—we’ve learned a new, ~revolutionary~ idiom you can use when you are about to confront someone. Because going “head-to-head” is so last season, replace it with “eyeliner-to-eyeliner.” This is applicable when both you and your enemy love wearing cat-eye liner.
Does this all make sense? Don’t beat yourself up over it, Mocha’s statement remains a big head-scratcher to us, too. For context, let me explain. Mocha has resigned from her position as PCOO Assistant Secretary, and is “open” to running for senate, right? Now, the camp of Vice President Leni Robredo isn’t letting her off that easy. They issued a statement saying that she is still liable for her lies and scandals despite her resignation, to which she responded: “Kung sa kasinangulingan lang, naku, sino kaya ang totoong sinungaling? Maski nga ‘yung posisyon niyo bilang [vice president] ay isang malaking kasinungalingan,” (Who is the real liar here? Even her position as [vice president] is a big lie.) She then challenged the vice president to go head-to-head “eyeliner-to-eyeliner” with her. “Patas na ang laban ngayon, wala akong tinatago, wala akong kinakatakutan, magharapan tayo, mata sa mata, eyeliner to eyeliner, mahilig din siya mag-eyeliner,” she said. (The fight is now even. I’m not hiding anything, and I’m not scared of anything. Let’s face each other, eye to eye; eyeliner to eyeliner, since she loves wearing eyeliner too.)
Making this iconic (yup, we’re calling it) statement is a wrong move it seems, as netizens are now after her eyeliner game.
What do you think—can Mocha make “eyeliner-to-eyeliner” happen?
