Sadly, the ‘A Star Is Born’ OST isn’t getting a Grammy

The statement “A Star Is Born deserves a Grammy for original soundtrack” will make everyone who’ve watched it nod in agreement. However, the entire album didn’t qualify for the award and only “Shallow,” performed by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper, will be holding the torch.

According to IndieWire, the soundtrack was released on Oct. 5, four days after the Grammy qualifying date (Oct. 1), which ruined the film’s chance at getting nominated. But since “Shallow” debuted at Sept. 27, it might just get a nom for Record or Song of the Year.

Before you get your pitchforks out, A Star Is Born—both the film and the soundtrack—still has a shot at next year’s Oscars. Aside from “Shallow,” Warner Bros. also submitted “I’ll Never Love Again” and “Always Remember Us This Way” for the Best Original Song race. So it’s possible for Lady Gaga to get triple Oscar nominations if all the songs get chosen.

In case you haven’t heard the A Star Is Born OSTlisten to it here. It has all the feels from the film, too.
