The new Pantone color is great for our makeup looks

It’s that time of the year again when Pantone announces a new “It” color that will bring down Millennial Pink (slash-through) Rose Quartz of 2016. Half-kidding.

While we loved the Ultra Violet of 2018, we’re more thrilled to find out that Pantone declared Living Coral as the Color of the Year for 2019. “Just as coral reefs are a source of sustenance and shelter to sea life, vibrant yet mellow, Pantone 16-1546, Living Coral embraces us with warmth and nourishment to provide comfort and buoyancy in our continually shifting environment,” says Pantone.

“With consumers craving human interaction and social connection, the humanizing and heartening qualities displayed by the convivial Pantone Living Coral hit a responsive chord,” says their executive director Leatrice Eiseman. There is that certain lightness you feel once you see this shade, do you agree?

What immediately came to mind were all the beauty looks that we can pull off (already pulling off) using this shade. A few products we love are as follows.

Benefit Cosmetics Coralista Blush

A little blush to warm up your complexion without looking tangy or toasted beyond recognition. Available at Greenbelt 5.

Sunnies Face Fluffmatte in Baked and Vacay

Combine the two and achieve the perfect coral-y shade. Ugh, we’re obsessed. Available at Glorietta 2.

MAC Cosmetics eyeshadow in Suspiciously Sweet

Brighten up your eyes with a swipe of this frosty coral orange shadow—perfect for day to night, city to beach. Available at Power Plant Mall.

Sephora Nano Lip Liner in Bright Coral

Don’t be afraid to go for bright iterations of this shade—rim your lips or use this to fill it up for a plump lip look. Layer with gloss for extra oomph! Available via Sephora.ph
