Catriona Gray doesn’t think you need to speak English to win Miss Universe

When asked whether the English language should be a prerequisite to being Miss Universe, our bet Catriona Gray readily answered, “No, of course not.”

In an interview by Philippine Pageantry right before the Miss Universe competition proper, she said, “A Miss Universe should just be someone who communicates her thoughts effectively and is able to communicate with people.” Catriona, who is also a known singer added, “Just like in music, you don’t need to understand the lyric but you can feel the feeling from what they’re communicating so why should it be any different with language.”

Well said, Catriona!
