Louis Vuitton recruits diverse pool of women for pre-fall lookbook

For Louis Vuitton’s pre-fall lookbook, Nicolas Ghesquière wanted to feature 17 of the brand’s celebrity muses who, he believes, embody confident women. And he achieved that by recruiting a diverse roster to model his new pieces.

Women of color like Thandie Newton, Doona Bae, Ruth Negga, Urassaya Sperbund, and Kelela, among many others, slayed this photo shoot. According to The Cut, they sported tartan overcoats, pussy-bow blouses, vinyl corseted belts, and wedge-heeled booties.

Nicolas explained in a press release that the women he chose “embrace the various personalities that embody fashion at Louis Vuitton. Be they stars or new faces, all of them share the same willpower, and confidence in their choices, and at the same time, reflect the eclecticism of the female identity.”

But, hey, if you look at the pieces long enough, you’ll forget that they’re being modeled by celebrity endorsers.
