The second-generation AirPods is here and this time, Apple made sure everything’s wireless. Yup, that includes the charging case. You’re now saved from the hassle of looking for outlets, but you do need a Qi-compatible charging mat. The new case gets juice just from being placed on the mat, and an LED light indicator on the front shows the case’s charge status.
Another exciting feature is, similar to iPhone, iPad, Mac, HomePod, and Apple Watch, the AirPods now respond to “Hey Siri,” so you can conveniently adjust the volume, make a call, or ask for directions.
The talk time also gets an upgrade. With the Apple-designed H1 chip, users get up to 50 percent more talk time compared to the original model, and assures faster connections with devices. They’ve also made improvements on the battery life. With the second-generation, just 15 minutes of charging time now allows you three hours of talk time.
