The latest wedding trend is choosing flats over sky-high heels

Back in the day, it was looked down on if you’re wearing a dress that’s not white or anything that’s not considered traditional bridal wear. Now, women are breaking the rules by wearing suits, opting out of veils, and now choosing comfier shoes.

Let’s face it: Standing for hours and doing shoots at your wedding can be tiring when you’re wearing heels. Especially if you have to wear them until your reception. If you’re tying the knot soon, you might want to consider going for flats or low-heeled shoes all the way.

Check out our picks below and add them to your shopping list, stat!

Starlight Sequin Crystal Iris Clogs Classics

Crocs are the ugly-pretty shoes that just won’t die. This bedazzled pair is described as a “bridal favorite” because of its design, comfort, and how easy it is to wear. Etsy user princesspumps, who distributes these shoes, also says they’re fully customizable too. Available on Etsy.

Keds Triple Decker Kate Spade Pearl Studs

In case you didn’t know, Keds has a line of bridal sneakers in collaboration with Kate Spade. This one has shiny pearl studs on the surface, which the brand describes as “jewelry for your feet.” The inside of the shoe has a cushiony feel and the soles have a little height as well.  Available at Shangri-La Plaza Mall.

Nike Classic Cortez Leather Shoes

Serena Williams famously wore a customized pair of Nike Cortez during her wedding reception. This inspired other brides to also wear their trainers on their special day. You can go for the classic all-white design that’s round toe, made from leather, and has an EVA wedge midsole for lightweight cushioning. This is perfect for outdoor weddings where you might need to walk on grass. Available on Zalora PH.

Charles & Keith Asymmetrical Kitten Heel Mules

Who What Wear declared earlier this month that kitten heels have eclipsed the PVC shoe trend. These are great for brides who don’t want to wear stilettos, but still want a little height on their wedding day. Charles & Keith’s kitten heel mules come in white faux leather with a pointed toe and asymmetrical straps. This is ideal for all-day wear and you can reuse this anytime. Available at Greenbelt 5.

Jacquemus White Castana 35 Crossover Stack Heel Leather Sandals

Strappy sandals with a unique low heel? Yes, please. This Jacquemus slip-on sandal is made from white leather that has stitching details on the straps. It stands out even more thanks to its “ornamental heel” that resembles a red gem on a metal pedestal. Available on Farfetch.

Fendi Texture-Leather Boots

When Anne Curtis got married in New Zealand, she opted for black platform boots to go with her wedding dress. Her bridesmaids also wore different kinds of boots, including cowboy ones. Forbes predicted in April that cowboy boots would make a comeback this season. So, why not incorporate it in your wedding look? If you don’t want it to look too overwhelming, then go for Fendi’s leather boots with notched wooden heels. These are great for outdoor weddings and even for dancing later at night. Available on Net-a-Porter.

Matthews Suzy Flat Ballerinas

You can never go wrong with ballerina flats. Wedding Ideas Magazine noted it’s important to have flats that can complement your wedding and/or reception dress. For this, check out Matthews’ flat slingback ballerinas in light gold. The strap at the back is embellished with crystals for added shimmer, and can also match your wedding jewelry. Available at SM Aura Premier.
