The next 007 is actress Lashana Lynch

Bond 25 is coming, and fans are in for a surprise. The James Bond franchise is inarguably one of the most successful in pop culture. The most famous fictional British spy has been brought to life by many actors, the last being Daniel Craig. Next in line is someone many would never have guessed: Actress Lashana Lynch, who many might recognize for her role as Maria Rambeau in Captain Marvel.

“While there are few details about the next installment in the Bond franchise, the forthcoming movie will allegedly see the character go into retirement, prompting M to appoint a successor to the 007 code name,” Hypebeast reports.

Needless to say, this is major news! This makes Lashana the first woman and the first Black actor to lead the James Bond franchise.

Directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga and written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the film is reportedly set to hit theaters on April 2020.
