The internet is swimming in major scalding infideliTEA. And some of TV’s biggest stars are involved.
Last July 21, Bea Alonzo posts a cryptic message on her Instagram feed and story which stirred social media like crazy. But before we even get to her posts, if you haven’t heard the latest breakup and alleged cheating scoop, get the dish here:
June 28, 2019, love team ‘JoshLia’: Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia, confirm their breakup as third party rumors circulate—involving Julia’s new leading man, Gerald Anderson, for their film Between Maybes released earlier this year.
JoshLia has had a big following, ever since their first movie hit Vince and Kath and James. Following the film, Joshua admitted that he was courting Julia in 2017, and confirms their relationship as they graze the Star Magic Ball together as a couple that same year.
The JoshLia couple has faced many challenges and was involved in controversies regarding their relationship in the past two years, but has remained strong despite them all. Which is why this recent breakup that they confirmed in late June 2019 was a shock to everyone.
Moving on to Bea Alonzo and Gerald Anderson, the couple has faced their fair share of ups and downs, especially when it comes to Gerald’s playboy reputation. However, Bea threw Gerald a surprise birthday party last March, which made their relationship seem strong and stable. But all of these are thrown out the window as rumors of Gerald and Julia begin sprouting, in light of their recent film Between Maybes. Here is a brief timeline of the alleged infidelity rumors:
May 2019:
Julia and first-time leading-man Gerald star in their new film Between Maybes and both parties seemed very Instagram-active about each other. Or maybe it was all just movie PR. Who knows?
June 3, 2019:
Julia becomes a guest in Erich Gonzales’ Q&A vlog and was asked a question that seemed to catch her off guard, “Julia is in love right now. True or false? Please answer.”
Julia answers “Wow. I would have to say, true. I am very much in love with the peace I gained just recently. It’s not with anybody…I’m not trying to say that I’m not in love with anybody. I’m just in love with the peace that I gained.”
June 28, 2019:
In an interview, Joshua and Julia finally announce that they are currently just best friends. And when asked about third party rumour Gerald, Julia immediately denies, with Joshua backing her up saying, “No, absolutely not. Hindi naman totoo ‘yon (It’s not true). Hindi naman magagawa ni Gerald ‘yon (Gerald can’t do that). Parang kuya ko na si Gerald (He’s like an older brother to me).”
But even as they confirm this, the rumors are still milling about Julia and Gerald, especially after sharing an on-screen kiss for Between Maybes, which was Julia’s first on-screen kiss.
July 20, 2019:
IG users @myloveis_genuine and @cabrera.kath posted suspicious photos of Julia and Gerald together at a party (which was later confirmed to be from Rayver Cruz’ birthday) and were seen exiting and riding the same car together, alone. These photos circulated all over social media and stirred up so much frenzy, accusing Gerald of cheating on Bea with Julia, and linking the third party rumor as a result of the JoshLia break up.
The photos seemed harmless, two co-stars hanging out at a party of a mutual friend. But suspicions arise as Bea is seen liking these photos.
July 21, 2019:
Bea posts a cryptic message, which made fans immediately speculate the truth about Julia and Gerald. She posts, “You can’t make the same mistake twice, the second time you make it, it’s not a mistake anymore, it’s a choice.’ ENOUGH.”
Bea also posts an IG story with a quote that says, “Something I learned about people… If they do it once, they’ll do it again.”
Gerald has been linked to alleged cheating scandals with his past showbiz relationships, and Bea’s posts highlighted the third party rumors even more. And to top it all off, netizens found Joshua liking Bea’s post on her feed.
Since Bea’s post, celebrities have been commenting their support for the actress. Even Julia’s aunt Gretchen Barretto showed her sympathies on Instagram.
Meanwhile, Julia’s mother, Marjorie Barretto has denied the rumors about the photos, and has been defending her daughter in the comments. She also confirms that she will be taking legal action when netizens commented on her IG.
All parties have not given official statements, and nothing has been explicitly confirmed.
