Batanes earthquake victims need your help

On July 27th,  Saturday, twin earthquakes hit the Batanes Islands with a 5.4 magnitude for the first tremors, followed by an even stronger quake at a 5.9 magnitude three hours later.

As of today, 9 people have been found dead, 60 have been injured, and Batanes’ infrastructures have been severely damaged. The first quake struck at 7:37 a.m., which meant many residents were still sound asleep inside their homes. The majority were able to exit quickly, just before the structures collapsed. Unfortunately, a number of buildings and houses are now destroyed, including paved roads.

Inquirer is now calling for help to support the victims of the Batanes twin earthquake.

Through the help drive, you may now deposit cash donations to the Inquirer Foundation Corp. Banco De Oro (BDO) Current Account No: 007960018860.

Inquiries may be addressed and emailed to Inquirer’s Corporate Affairs office through foundation@inquirer.com.ph or call 8978808 local 238 or 352.
