As her fight against music producer Dr. Luke continues, Kesha revealed on Instagram that she was allegedly offered freedom from her contract with Sony Music if she stops spreading and accusing that the producer sexually assaulted her.
This claim from the pop singer comes a couple of weeks after she filed an appeal to the Manhattan Supreme Court to reconsider the dismissal of her injunction which would’ve allowed her to create music independently of Sony Music and her long-time producer Dr. Luke (Lukasz Gottwald).
Kesha first filed a sexual assault and battery case against Dr. Luke in 2014 for abusing her during the 10 years that they’ve been working together. Since then, she also included Sony as a defendant to the case for allegedly having “knowledge of Dr. Luke treating female entertainers under his tutelage and supervision in the same manner.”
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the producer tells E! Online that the post was false, and that the court already told Kesha that she was free to record music without Dr. Luke.
The spokesperson adds, “The only thing Kesha is not free to do is to continue to lie about Dr. Luke through publicity stunts and outrageous smears, ignoring the fact that by her own free will she went to work and entered new contracts with Dr. Luke years after this ‘incident’ supposedly happened. Her goal all along has been solely personal enrichment by seeking to break contracts that brought her success and millions so she can enter into more lucrative ones. We look forward to our day in court holding Kesha accountable for her lies.”
This all seems very complicated and confusing right now, but we do wish the truth will present itself in the near future, and that there would be ample justice for sexual assault cases like this one.
