Lady Gaga’s appearance in “A Star is Born” wowed critics, making the movie a huge box office success, with a total worldwide gross of more than $400 million. And now she’s making her silver-screen return as the wife of the murdered grandson of Guccio Gucci, the founder of Gucci.
The film is about the Gucci family and the murder of Maurizio Gucci, the grandson and the heir to the Gucci fashion dynasty. Lady Gaga will play Patrizia Reggiani, who was tried and convicted for arranging the murder of husband Maurizio. She served 18 years in prison and was released in 2016.
According to Deadline, the Gucci story is based on Sara Gay Forden’s book “The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed.” Maurizio had two daughters with Reggiani but left her for another woman. The media portrayed Reggiani as a “hot-blooded woman” and naming her Black Widow.
Ridley Scott, director of “The Martian” and “Gladiator,” will direct the movie. Scott has garnered four Oscar nominations, while Gaga received an Oscar for the best original song “Shallow.”
As of writing, Lady Gaga is the only actor attached to this movie.
