VP Robredo grades Duterte’s drug war 1 over 100

Vice President Leni Robredo finally gave her report of the drug war after serving as the co-chairperson of the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD) for 18 days. Unsurprisingly, she gave the campaign a failing grade.

Robredo reported that the police only seized less than one percent of shabu in the past three years, emphasizing how Oplan Tokhang killed thousands of small-time drug users and bred a culture of abuse in the country.

“If this were an exam, the government’s score is 1 over 100,” Robredo said, adding that the Duterte administration’s anti-drug campaign is a failure.

According to Inquirer.net, Robredo urged Pres. Rodrigo Duterte to direct his focus on “strengthening the anti-drug abuse councils and community-based rehabilitation.” She also reiterated that law enforcement agencies should scrap Oplan Tokhang and implement new programs to effectively address the drug problem in the country.

As of writing, the Malacañang Palace hasn’t issued a statement regarding Robredo’s report.
