Happy Lunar New Year to everyone who celebrates this holiday!
As many of you know, 2020 is the Year of the Rat, aka a lucky year for people born under this zodiac sign. (1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008, and 2020) Some go the extra mile and make sure they’re incorporating lucky colors to their everyday lives.
Just like in western astrology, people are said to have a specific set of traits based on their signs. If you were born during the Year of the Rat (or know someone who was) and wondered what your prominent traits are, we listed some of them down. (Take note that these can be subjective, so don’t be bummed out if you can’t relate.)
Always has a positive attitude
People born in the Year of the Rat are said to be liked by all because they are kind, optimistic, and empathetic to others’ emotions. Because of these traits, they are also good at making friends.
Adaptable
According to Chinese legend, 12 animals participated in a race where the rat, the smallest of them all, hitched a ride on the back of the ox get to the finish line first. This is why the Year of the Rat is the first animal in the Chinese calendar cycle. It’s believed that those born under this zodiac sign are known for being adaptable and able to find solutions to any problem.
Introverted
Top China Travel notes that even though Year of the Rat people are a little introverted, they are still “active and enthusiastic in action.” (This is also a reminder that being an introvert isn’t a bad thing!)
A fighter
Despite being perceived as charming and introverted, Rats shouldn’t be messed with. Culture Astrology describes them as “aggressive and restless at times,” meaning they are able to stand up for themselves if needed. This can be seen as a positive and negative, so it’s important that you choose your battles and not get too blinded by anger.
Forgives easily
Because of their optimistic nature, Year of the Rat people are said to be forgiving even if they are wronged. Of course, no one should abuse that trait either.
Great budgeting skills
According to ChineseNewYear.net, Year of the Rat people live to save money and can be stingy. Frugality is also a characteristic that’s mostly seen in women born in the Year of the Rat. However, one of the negative traits the Rat has is spending money on unnecessary items, so watch your savings closely.
Observant and intuitive
Rats are said to have high intuition, especially if they know they’re in danger. Your Chinese Astrology notes that people born in Year of the Rat are intuitive and observant, which gives them the foresight to solve problems at work and life in general.
