We’re finally getting more of Kim Jung-hyun from a rumored new leading role

The tvN and Netflix show “Crash Landing on You” (CLOY) was such a huge hit that it became the highest rated tvN drama and the second-highest-rated Korean drama in cable television history. While main leads Son Ye-Jin and Hyun Bin are big Hallyu stars adored by many, Kim Jung-hyun’s funny yet heartbreaking Gu Seung-joon was the character to root for.

If you can’t get enough of Kim Jung-hyun, it looks like you don’t have to wait for long. The CLOY actor is rumored to star opposite of “Angel’s Last Mission: Love“ leading lady Shin Hye Sun for the upcoming K-drama “Queen Cheorin.” At the helm of show is “Hwarang” producer Yun Sung-sik, PD and “Doctor Prisoner” writer Park Gye-ok. An article on Soompi reports that South Korean cable network tvN plans to broadcast in the second half of the year, possibly around November.

According to a report on Naver, the funny historical fusion drama is going to be a gender-swap story. It follows Bong Hwan, a man from present South Korea, whose soul gets trapped in the body of a queen from the Joseon Dynasty. The show plans to get a fresh take on tackling gender stereotypes. However, South Korean sites seem to have different reports and Kim Jung-hyun’s part in the project is yet to be confirmed.

In the meantime, you can watch out for the reuniting of Gu Seung-joon and Seo Dan in the new MBC drama “Shall We Eat Dinner Together?”  plays a woman who just got through a rough breakup and is now jaded with romance. It’s interesting to guess how Kim Jung-hyun is going to appear on the show.

It looks like we have a lot to anticipate. In the meantime, anyone care for a CLOY rewatch?
