Metro Manila Pride March is going online and they want you to join in

June is Pride Month, but with a global pandemic and social distancing guidelines in place, this year’s Pride March has been canceled.

Though we won’t be able to pussy stunt this year, Metro Manila Pride, with the aid of a grant from VOICE Global, is reaching out to members of the LGBTQIA+ community to share their stories in a show of unity and solidarity both within the community and with the world at large. These stories will be featured in a new digital magazine that’s set to be released in June—coinciding with Metro Manila Pride’s website facelift.

Appropriately, the theme for this first month is “sama-sama,” to remember togetherness in a time of social distancing and tot spotlight the voice of a community that’s often been silenced.

The deadline for submissions is on Tuesday, May 19. Entries are to be submitted to bit.ly/mmpridepitches and accepted submissions are to be given honoraria.
