It’s Gemini season which means it’s the perfect time to express yourself and make a statement. And we don’t mean just by talking. The lively Gemini energy is making us want to socialize and move around but we’re not really in the position to do all of that right now. If the influx of newly released bops are anything to go by, people are itching to share their work and dance their heart out. If Taurus season called for relaxation, this one is all about stimulation. Now’s the time to get inspired and make something out of it.
If you’ve been living in your rattiest pambahay this past month, maybe Mercury will motivate you to play with your style again or revamp your clothes. We turned to some of our favorite Gemini ladies who had some striking style moments to help you brainstorm. With that cooped up Gemini energy, living vicariously through these looks will be hitting different. Trust us.
Naomi Campbell
Naomi Campbell is a goddess walking among us. Apart from being one of the most recognizable faces in fashion, she has also branched out to TV, music and film. Witty and well-spoken, she also has seven books on her belt. Campbell is never not in style but her attire at Marc Jabobs’ VIP wedding really caught our attention.
The supermodel wore this rhinestone-adorned cape with matching structured trousers. Under that, she wore a sheer polka-dot top that showed off her toned bod. She paired that Balmain set with pointy heels. A cape looks great on any superwoman.
Emily Ratajkowski
Another model we’re taking inspiration from is Emily Ratajkowski. Her 2019 MET Gala ensemble is giving off major Hermes (the god, not the brand) vibes and we’re pretty sure this wasn’t lost on her. Maybe we could also do this with spare curtains or other long cloths?
Her halter-neck Dundas gown has a cut-out, barely-there full bodice with a small train. A winged headpiece with strings of crystal is a dramatic addition that will have you looking at her from head-to-toe.
Lily-Rose Depp
While Lily-Rose Depp and Timothee Chalamet made a cute couple together, the 20-year-old actress-model shines just as brightly on her own. As one of Chanel’s brand ambassadors, Depp is often sporting one of the fashion house’s pieces. The naked dress she wore at the BAFTAs had her stealing the scene at the red carpet.
She rocked a sheer, black lace catsuit with a sheer spaghetti-strap dress layered on top. She completed the look with peep-toe heels. (We’re not so sure that was the right shoe choice though.) Could this style be the answer to our haute summer dreams?
Jorja Smith
Singer-songwriter Jorja Smith’s personal style is as cool as her music. From athleisure to body-hugging mini dresses, she’s often looking trendy and playful. The Dior beauty ambassador prefers fresh-faced make-up with the occasional red or pink lip.
She has mastered the short dress and sneaker combo. While on tour with fellow contemporary R&B artist Kali Uchis, she put on a baby blue satin dress and cinched it with a white corset. She paired it with white sneakers and rhinestone earrings.
Jodi Sta. Maria
Jodi Sta. Maria looks lovely in casual or couture. In her downtime, the 37-year-old actress chooses simple and modest get-ups. She’s also more of a sneakers and sandals kind of gal. But when the occasion calls for it, she can go full-on glam.
For the ABS-CBN ball, she wore a Mark Bumgarner terno jumpsuit with a bow train attached from the side. The terno is adorned with black lace appliques. The open-toe heels and the sleek hair completes this fierce Maria Clara look.
