It’s another one for the queer archives: “Disclosure,” a documentary of trans stories in the TV and film industry, is now up on Netflix. According to their announcement post back in May, the film is produced by trans people who aim to tell their behind-the-scenes stories and “provide insight into working against dehumanization in the media.”
Giving an “unprecedented look at trans representation across film and TV,” it features interviews with actors, writers and filmmakers like MJ Rodriguez, Jamie Clayton, Jen Richards, Lilly Wachowski, Yance Ford and more. Aside from exposing viewers to the plight of trans people in general, they also tackle the racism they face in the industry.
This Pride month, numerous queer films like “Ang Huling Cha-Cha ni Anita” and “Sila-sila” have been made available on streaming sites. Organizations have also been holding online concerts and talks for the LGBTQ+ community, like [organization’s] talk on safe spaces.
