Get ready for three new groups and more BTS content this year

If you’re already on a K-pop high from all the debuts and comebacks this year, Big Hit Entertainment is not bringing you down any time soon. The South Korean company managing BTS, Seventeen and GFRIEND had their corporate briefing on Aug. 13 and revealed big plans for their groups and teased that new groups will be debuting soon.

Following the debut of boy group TXT in 2019, founder and CEO Bang Si-hyuk announced that a new boy group formed in the reality show I-LAND will be debuting this year. Not only this, Big Hit also has two more groups lined up with a boy group debuting in 2021 and, finally, a girl group under subsidiary Source Music in 2022.

“While we can’t reveal much now, you can be assured that they will be a team of girls full of unique charms, and be a global girl group coming from diverse backgrounds and languages. It will be a blockbuster girl group, produced by myself and Big Hit’s team, [Chief Brand Officer] Min Hee Jin’s creative directing, and Source Music’s color and girl group knowledge,” said Bang Si-hyuk.

The company announced big plans for these groups including new albums from TXT and NU’EST dropping this year and a digital fanmeet with Seventeen at the end of this month.

And of course, Big Hit didn’t forget about you, ARMYs.

After congratulating BTS for all their engagements this year such as being a part of YouTube’s “Dear Class of 2020” lineup, Bang Si-hyuk revealed that BTS will be dropping a new album between October to December this year.

Moreover, it was announced that BTS will be performing in their online concert “BTS MAP OF THE SOUL ON:E” featuring tracks from their album “MAP OF THE SOUL: 7” in October. Fans can not only watch the boys online but also in person (we hope everyone practices safety measures for this though).

The company proceeded to mention more plans for the group including releasing two new books: their upcoming Korean language learning book and “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: The Notes 2.”

Not only this, but they also plan to release two new video games this year. Following the upcoming Netmarble sandbox game “BTS Universe Story” (which they already teased last year), Big Hit also plans to release a new mobile rhythm game under their game subsidiary Superb. This game will allow you to enjoy the music of all the Big Hit artists and will also have a multiplayer format that lets you play with other fans around the world.
