As videos of Iyah Mina accepting the Best Actress award for “Mamu; And a Mother Too” in the 2018 Cinema One Originals Film Festival went viral on Twitter, director Rod Singh tweeted that the movie is set to go up on YouTube for free for a limited time only.
Back in 2018, Singh debuted his film “Mamu; And a Mother Too” which revolves around a trans sex worker who becomes the mom of her orphaned trans niece who is just beginning to discover her sexuality. Aside from that, she also begins to realize the struggle of being an aging sex worker and balancing it with her relationship with her young fiance and her new mother role.
If you can’t be bothered waiting for its YouTube debut (which doesn’t even have a set date), you can stream “Mamu; And a Mother Too” on iWant for free.
