We’re getting the ‘Euphoria’ Christmas special with Rue real soon

Euphoria fans, we’re getting new content soon—though not season two.

Today, Nov. 26, Zendaya tweeted the poster for her upcoming “Euphoria” special. “This is not season 2,” the poster stressed, along with the possible name of the episode (“Part 1: Rue”), and its release date (Dec. 6).

Last month, HBO announced that the teen drama “Euphoria” will be getting two special episodes. The first is a Christmas special with Rue, the character played by Zendaya, while the details of the second special haven’t been released yet. These episodes will bridge the gap between season one, which premiered January last year, and season two, which will be released sometime next year.

According to the old announcement, the Rue special will follow the character in the aftermath of the first season finale, with love interest Jules (Hunter Schafer) leaving her at the train station, and her subsequent relapse. As a Christmas special, it’ll be showing Rue celebrating the holiday. This information might not be wholly accurate though—the old announcement also said that title would be “Trouble Don’t Last Always” but that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore.

We can’t wait for the second season, but these specials will satiate us for now.
