Kang Daniel is making his acting debut…on a Disney+ show?

Anyone else desperate for more Kang Daniel content? Buckle up.

According to Ilgan Sports, the solo act and former boy band member has reportedly been cast in an upcoming Disney+ police drama, finally making his acting debut. Called “Our Police Class,” the show will center around the students of the exclusive (but conservative) Korean National Police Academy.

Kang Daniel will be playing male lead Wi Seung Hyun, the son of a police chief and an honors student at the university. Soompi writes that “he admires his father, who is the commissioner of the Gyeonggi Dongbu Police Agency. He sets out on following in his father’s footsteps but runs into hurdles as he gets involved with a woman named Go Eun Gang (the female lead). The story will revolve around young adults born in the year 2000 making their way through college life in their own unapologetic ways at one of the most conservative universities in Korea.”

The show is part of Disney+’s thrust to enter the Korean market (the platform will be released in South Korea sometime this year), and will be produced by “Descendants of the Sun” and “Beauty Inside” creators Studio New.
