It’s only been four months since Aespa debuted but they’ve already reached new heights usually attained by other K-pop groups after years. The rookies of SM Entertainment are the new faces of luxury brand Givenchy—the first in South Korea.
“When I first saw AESPA, I was struck by its members’ energy, both as a group and individually. Karina, Giselle, Winter and NingNing each have a distinctive personal style that naturally reflects the spirit of Givenchy: When they wear fashion, they make it their own,” commented Givenchy creative director Matthew M. Williams.
According to Givenchy, the luxury brand is not only getting the members but their avatar counterparts as well.
ICYDK, Aespa takes its name from Æ, the first letters in ‘Avatar’ and ‘Experience,’ and the word ‘aspect,’ an anagram that expresses the duality of “meeting another self and experiencing a new world via avatars.” The group made its debut in November 2020 with the release of the single “Black Mamba.”
