Taylor Swift and Haim released another collab and we’re shaking

After their chilling collab on Taylor Swift’s “Evermore” last December, the Haim sisters pulled an Uno reverse card and released a remix of their track “Gasoline,” featuring Taylor.

On Feb. 19, the sister trio announced the release of the remix as part of the expanded edition of their 2020 album “Women in Music Pt. III.” The band teased the drop by releasing a video on their TikTok and Instagram accounts yesterday that has Danielle listening to the remix where you can hear Taylor’s distinct vocals. Eagle-eyed swifties have been speculating on the collab since they found an ASCAP registration of the title “Gasoline (Featuring Taylor Swift)” on Feb. 16. Coincidentally, the band announced the remake of the song on the same day with a photo including Taylor’s favorite number 13.

Now that the remix is out, fans are ecstatic with the song as Taylor did not only lend her vocals, but also shared more ideas to reimagine the track.

“Since we released [‘Women in Music Pt. III’] in June, Taylor had always told us that `Gasoline’ was her favorite. So when we were thinking about ways to reimagine some of the tracks from the record, we immediately thought of her. She brought out such amazing ideas and new imagery to the song and truly gave it a new life,” Haim wrote on their Instagram account. Together with the “Gasoline” remix, the band also released a reimagined version of “3 am” with bassist and singer-songwriter Thundercat.

Prior to “Gasoline” and their collab “No Body, No Crime” on Taylor’s “Evermore,” the quartet has been working together since Taylor invited Haim to open for her “1989” tour for 17 dates in 2015. Aside from their consecutive collabs, Haim and Taylor have another thing in common—both are competing against each other for “Album of the Year” at the 2021 Grammy Awards (Ugh, can there be two winners instead, please?). So, yes, we agree with you, Taylor, you are the fourth Haim sister and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
