Jezebel dropped this huge gem on their website today: Proof of which anti-aging products really do work, courtesy of 60-year-old YouTube vlogger Melissa55. Yes, this stunning southern belle is officially a senior citizen—and she doesn’t look a day over 40.
Don’t get us wrong: This isn’t to knock the beautifully wrinkly visages of women aged 60 and up—respect. We just find it pretty fascinating to get first-hand information on potent anti-aging ingredients from someone who is basically living proof that they work. The fact that she has a charming southern accent and genteel demeanor doesn’t hurt either.

Jezebel’s Tracy Moore mentions more than a few of Melissa55’s anti-aging tips in her post, namely:
#1 She doesn’t moisturize because it makes skin “lazy.”
#2 She also doesn’t use Retin-A or Retinol because she is concerned with the safety of these products.
#3 However, she does keep her skin in a “young state” with acid peels.
#4 She’s never had Botox; the only facial procedure she gets done is eyebrow waxing. In fact, she’s wary of Botox because young models are used in the ads, instead of older ones: “Of course they’re going to look good,” she says. “They could slap poop on their skin and they’re going to look good.” Touché.
#5 She doesn’t use a Clarisonic. “It breaks down the muscles underneath,” she warns.
#6 She isn’t too hard on her skin: “But now don’t get down on your skin,” she says. “It’s your friend. It’s there for a purpose.” Well, it sure is.
#7 She uses a lot of Obagi.
