Kristen Stewart is marrying her screenwriter girlfriend and nothing can make me happier

It’s happening, folks: Kristen Stewart is getting married! She just got engaged to Dylan Meyer, her girlfriend of two years. ICYDK, Meyer is a screenwriter and actress, and she co-wrote the screenplay adaptation of “Moxie.”

Kristen Stewart was the celebrity crush and gay awakening of an entire generation. Even before she came out, many in the sapphic community were claiming her as one of us. I still remember “Pillow Talk” episodes (remember The Gay Women Channel on YouTube?) where hosts Sarah and Adrianna would claim her.

I remember how momentous it was when she first started dating girls, and when she said, during her 2017 “Saturday Night Live” monologue, “I’m like so gay, dude.” There was so much fervor around it, and all the big lesbian-centric sites like Autostraddle were covering the news. “I’ve been joking that Kristen Stewart’s paid my phone bill for the past two years,” Autostraddle’s Stef Schwartz told Buzzfeed.

I’m not gonna lie, knowing that Kristen Stewart is getting married to her longterm girlfriend is making me really happy. It’s almost like a culmination of all those years of pining after her and finding out more of her gay life. I don’t think I’m the only one who feels this: There is, after all, a whole timeline of her queer dating life that you can read.

Congratulations to the couple! I wish them all the happiness and comfortable flannel shirts in the world.
