Nadine Lustre, Liza Soberano, and Yassi Pressman’s latest project? Ending mental health stigma

Nadine Lustre, Liza Soberano, and Yassi Pressman have teamed up. No, not for a new movie or show (though with the actress Nadine comeback on the horizon, we have our fingers crossed). The super team are now investors of a company called Mind You that provides easier access to mental health services.

Lustre talked about the company in a recent interview with Christine Jacob on CNN Philippines. “I’m working on this company called Mind You. It’s with Yassi Pressman and Liza Soberano. It is a platform for mental health, pretty much. The easiest way to describe it is it’s a platform that will make therapists or psychologists, psychiatrists easier to access, making it much more cheaper,” she shared.

“Here in the Philippines, mental health is such a huge problem. It’s not widely talked about. There is still a stigma when it comes to mental health and just, you know, talking about it. We’re doing our best to try and normalize it and tell everyone, hey, this is a normal thing, you can do this. You can call or talk to someone and help you with what it is that you’re going through.”

While the company itself isn’t exactly new—the three actresses used the account to invite people to the Mental Health Summit in October—it is the first time that any of them have opened up about the company in an interview.

It’s a great thing to see these three use their platform responsibly and elevate a much-needed discourse.

It’s also not lost on us that they’re the perfect advocates for it. Lustre has opened up about her depression before, and very famously called out radio host Jobert Sucaldito for making inappropriate suicide jokes. Pressman also recently talked about mental health in October, likening taking care of her own mental health to surfing.

Meanwhile, Soberano called out the movie “Tililing’s” poster in February for spreading harmful mental health stereotypes, saying, “Mental health is NOT a joke. Stop the stigma.” Little known fact: Soberano is a psychology major.

We salute them for taking active steps to address this problem. Female celebrities using their public platform for the good, we love to see it.
