One of our faves from the new gen of Philippine entertainment is Kyline Alcantara. With multiple shows and a successful loveteam under her belt at just 19 years old, it’s safe to say that she’s secured her spot in the ’biz.

She’s been in the industry for 12 years
Alcantara may just be 19 years old, but she’s already an industry vet. She plunged into the showbiz world in 2009 at just 7 years old. She was in “Star Circle Quest: Search for the Next Kiddie Superstars” in 2010, but got her big break in 2013 when she became part of the supporting cast of “Annaliza,” the kiddie drama starring Andrea Brillantes. She’s been in multiple iconic TV shows since then, with her having roles in 2015’s “Pangako sa ’Yo,” as well as 2017’s “Wildflower” and “Kambal Karibal.”
She’s a tourism major
The actress, who entered college in 2020 at the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA, is a BS Tourism Management major. “I want to have enough knowledge about the Philippines so pagdating sa ibang bansa kayang-kaya kong ipagmalaki kung gaano kaganda ‘yung Pilipinas,” she about her degree choice in an interview for “24 Oras.”
She’s in a love team with Mavy Legaspi
Sparkle (the new rebrand of GMA Artist Center) has been busy these days launching their newest love teams. Among the new pairs are Alcantara and Mavy Legaspi, son of Zoren Legaspi and Carmina Villarroel and one half of the Legaspi twins.
Their first project together was 2021’s “I Left My Heart in Sorsogon.” “It’s not just for publicity,” they have both separately said about their relationship (they confirmed they were dating in December). Fans call their loveteam “MavLine.”
Coming from a humble background with non-showbiz parents, Alcantara admitted that she was at first intimidated by her partner’s parents. “Tita Mina and Tito Zoren, they’re like icons in the showbiz industry,” she said in an interview on “Surprise Guest with Pia Arcangel.”
Fortunately, Legaspi’s celebrity mom approves of her. When asked if Alcantara “passed” as Mavy’s girlfriend, Villarroel said that she was “very sure” about her. “Bago pa sila maging magka-love team, magbarkada na sila.”
Prior to Legaspi, she was in a love team with actor and One Up member Yasser Marta.
She’s also a singer
Alcantara isn’t just an actress; she’s a singer, too. She debuted with her self-titled album “Kyline” and its single “Bukas Na Lang” in 2018, and has been making music ever since. Bops like “Isa, Dalawa, Tatlo” were released in 2020, and no doubt fans would look forward to more singles from her.
She has a YouTube channel
That’s right, she’s also a YouTuber. On her channel, she uploads vlogs, video challenges, and musical covers. In her latest vlog, she gave a behind the scenes tour of her KTO announcement, describing the post as her “biggest role to date.”
