It’s been less than a month since the internet started making jokes at Leonardo DiCaprio’s expense following his split with 25-year-old model Camila Morrone. Rumor is he already has his eyes on someone new: model Gigi Hadid, who is *just* 20 years his junior.
He and Morrone were together for four years, and as we Filipinos tend to say, sayang naman, ang tagal ng pinagsamahan nila. Morrone’s known him since she was 10 years old. (Yep, pretty gross.) Emmys host Kenan Thompson even joked about how Zendaya, 26, is too old to date Leo during the ceremony on Sept. 13.
But it seems DiCaprio has had enough of the jokes and is out to prove to the world that he can also date women over 25—that line graph chronicling his sketchy dating history be damned. He and Hadid are reportedly in the process of “getting to know each other.”
According to People’s sources, the pair aren’t dating just yet but Dicaprio is definitely pursuing Hadid. “They’ve been seen hanging out with groups of people,” a source says. Page Six reports that they’ve recently been seen together at New York Fashion Week and at exclusive New York City club The Ned NoMad.
As for Hadid, her last high-profile relationship was with baby daddy Zayn Malik. Their breakup was made public last October, supposedly after Hadid’s mom Yolanda accused Malik of striking her during an alleged argument. The singer denied this in court documents despite pleading no contest to charges made against him.
If DiCaprio and Hadid do end up getting together, we can’t help but wonder whether he’ll get the approval of Mommy Yolanda. He shouldn’t, right? But what do normal people like us know about the inner workings of the minds of Hollywood parents? Nada.
