If you’ve nothing better to do today than head to the office, you may want to consider the alternative: At this very moment, Alden Richards, along with GMA network stars Christian Bautista, Dennis Trillo, Joyce Ching, Chariz Solomon, Kevin Santos, Jessa Zaragoza, and Eugene Domingo are on their way to the World Trade Center for the annual Celebrity Ukay-Ukay organized by famous people-slash-do-gooders Carla Abellana and Tom Rodriguez.
“Making a difference in the lives of others takes hard work, perseverance, and a lot of heart,” says Mel Tiangco, executive vice president and COO of the GMA Kapuso Foundation, the sole beneficiary of the Celebrity Ukay-Ukay. “We are grateful for Tom and Carla’s continued generosity, as well as that of our other celebrity donors, because their support has been instrumental in the fulfillment of the Foundation’s many projects.”
On her Instagram page, Carla wrote, “Always a pleasure to lend a hand. With God’s help, Tom and I will work harder this year so GMA Kapuso Foundation can build more classrooms and more schools.”
While it remains to be which articles of clothing Alden will be selling at the bazaar, Carla has revealed that she will be selling a red Veejay Floresca dress that she once wore for the Metro Manila Film Festival, along with a Gucci bag. Tom, on the other hand, will be unloading a few pieces from his massive collection of V-neck quarter-sleeve shirts. Dennis Trillo donated his leather motorcycle jackets (but it remains unclear if he is shedding the tired bad-boy image as well).
The bazaar starts today until Nov. 30 at the World Trade Center, and will transfer to the SMX Convention Center in Mall of Asia from Dec. 18 to 20.
