When all you need is a pick-me-up, nothing says cheer more than rainbow sprinkles on bright buttercream icing. Sonja Ocampo describes her cupcakes as “Chic, elegant, comforting, and cute.” Her shop, Cupcakes by Sonja, has taken Manila by storm one sweet treat at a time.
Her love for baking, rooted in her childhood, has transformed her into a household name. “I used to bake blueberry muffins with store-bought ingredients with my mom when I was a child. My biggest thrill was licking the batter off the bowl, right before they went into the cupcake pans,” she says. Now, she manages a successful business, creating innovative flavors and recreating traditional recipes that cater to the young and the old.
