The inevitable is happening. Instagram, an app first developed to provide real-time photo updates (hence the prefix “insta”), is changing up its attack. Beaten by Snapchat and Periscope for fresher scoops, Instagram is going to change our feeds where the most-liked post will appear first rather than the most recent photo.
So what’s the sense of Instagram now, you may ask. As a social media platform, it’s still relevant no doubt between the selfies of Kylie Jenner and fashion campaign drops of Marc Jacobs. What the new algorithm (the date of when it’ll come remains a mystery), will do now is force us to really choose whose feeds are really important to us.
We here at Preen chose our picks of who are worth turning on our notifications for and it’s a mix of fashion influencers, design connoisseurs, and no-fail buzzmakers that have proven to be ahead of their respective fields all the time.
