A lot of people say that eating cookie dough is not always safe, blame the raw eggs in the mix that might harm you with salmonella, but now it’s more than just the raw eggs. FDA said that we should stop eating cookie dough because of another ingredient—flour—because it could be contaminated with E.Coli. Um, ew.
USFDA points out the recent recall of millions of pounds of General Mills flour affecting known brands such as Gold Medal and Signature’s Kitchen because their products were linked to an E.Coli outbreak that affected the people in the U.S. It might not be happening in the Philippines, but you can never be too sure, right? And we import a whole lot of products from the States so this greatly affects us cookie dough lovers, as well.
So just to be safe, you should probably skip the raw cookie dough and opt for a baked one instead. Unless, you want stomach cramps and numerous trips to the bathroom.
