The world isn’t over how Hollywood’s dream couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are calling it quits. Rumors are still surfacing, Jennifer Aniston memes are still abound, and more women are being linked.
One of the most ridiculous ones so far is how a photo of Brad Pitt and Selena Gomez apparently angered Angelina.
Aside from the photo being eight months old, we really couldn’t imagine the Oscar-winning Angelina being jealous of the former teen queen. (Not that we have anything against Selena.)
There’s also one of how Brad and Gwyneth Paltrow are rekindling an old flame. Bustle points out that the rumors surfaced as early as Sept. 3. Talk about wild.
The one with Marion Cotillard was quickly squashed however, with Angelina lawyer’s making it clear that it was more about the welfare of the kids. People even followed up with a statement from Brad’s camp expressing concern over the kids and asking for space as the family goes through the issue.
But of course, people won’t leave probably the biggest divorce case of 2016 alone. TMZ claims that a source close to Brad says that the actor is ready to fight for custody of the kids and denies how he will put them in danger, referring to his alleged alcohol and substance abuse.
The Cut, however, counters with a piece of how Angelina perfectly orchestrated the whole announcement. She blindsided her partner, leaving tabloids scrambling. Though the timing was convenient: a Monday morning in the United States when most publications hit press, leaving a week before they can come out with something about the couple.
It’s funny though how we are quick to portray women as cunning, heartless masterminds and make men the innocent victims.
We’re just going to remind you once more that sometimes, divorce isn’t a blame game. Sometimes, even the most perfect love stories can only last for so long and that’s why Adele dedicating her concert to Brad and Angelina is indeed fitting.
ManRepeller puts it bluntly: it’s not the end of the world.
