Get ready to hear more and more about Jack O’Connell as he’s been confirmed to play Alexander McQueen in a biopic currently in the works.
A bright talent from UK, he’s lauded for his work in Unbroken (in which he worked with director Angelina Jolie), ’71, and Starred Up. Production for the film on the designer is reported to start next spring. So until then, you still have time to watch Jack’s previous work and be the judge of his acting chops.
He’s also been spotted on Conan O’Brien:
Not much else is being revealed about the project, which is directed by Andrew Haigh. However, we do know that it will be a very emotional film, centering on the run-up to Alexander’s last show, Plato’s Atlantis.
It will also cull heavily from the biography Blood Beneath the Skin by Andrew Wilson. Looks like Jack has got a lot of work cut out for him. Oh, but it does help that he looks a lot like the late Lee Alexander.
