It’s time to upgrade your MacBook Pro. Apple just revealed their newest baby, four years after the release of Mac’s last model. Sit tight because this is going to be good.
Apple’s Tim Cook unveiled the newest MacBook at their HQ in Cupertino just a few hours ago. One of the most notable traits is that it’s “the lightest version of the Pro to date” with the 13-inch version being only 14.9 mm thick (compared to the previous one’s 18 mm) and weighs only three pounds. Meanwhile, the 15-inch one is 15.5 mm and weighs four pounds. That’s pretty handy if you’re someone who brings their laptop everywhere (just like us here at Preen). Plus, it’s lighter than the MacBook Air!
Another impressive addition is the Touch Bar, which is a multi-touch retina display in between the screen and keyboard which does away with the MacBook Pro’s function keys. The Touch Bar will utilize various taps and gestures based on the owner’s usage. You can also easily place emojis while typing now.
Other features include a built-in Siri, a 130-percent performance increase, 10-hour battery life, a double-sized track pad with Force Touch, and it comes in silver and space grey. Oh, and it still has an earphone jack, don’t worry. You can find out more on the Apple website.
The standard 13-inch MacBook Pro will cost $1,499 and the one with the Touch Bar will be $1,799. Meanwhile, the 15-inch will cost $2,399. (You do the math.) There’s no specific date yet on when this’ll hit stores, but it’s already available for pre-order on the website.
