It’s very convenient that a shop like Design Story launches formally at the start of the holiday season. We’re all in the mood to welcome some change, switch up our spaces, and clear out our old fixtures to make way for new ones.
Design Story, as a furniture shop, features east and west pieces and brands. Perfect for when you feel a little limited to one aesthetic or are looking for that one piece to change your entire layout. A few key brands they house are HAY and Stellar Works.
A Scandinavian staple, HAY carries the minimalist and clean approach we love about European interiors. I always keep an eye out for their accessories like their Kaleido trays which make for good pieces for your flatlays (and storage for your office knickknacks, of course).
On the other hand, they also house Stellar Works which makes bespoke furniture inspired by Asian design. You may recognize that one of their most famous pieces, the “Ming Chair” is the chair that Victoria Beckham is sitting on for her profile photo on Instagram.
If you’re down south, you may pay a visit to Design Story anytime in their first location at the third floor of the Uptown Mall in BGC. And soon enough, they’ll have their second showroom in Makati. I can wait for when that happens so I can liven up my desk a bit.
