Kim Jones draws from her love for traveling and fashion for a capsule collection with Shoes of Prey called “La Dolce Vita.”
According to her blog, Kim pulled inspiration from her recent trip to the Amalfi Coast in Italy and customized all five of the shoes on her own. “I figured it was only fitting that my designs be inspired by the rich, luxurious culture of the south of Italy. Think tactile elements like velvets and suedes in jewel tones, like emerald and ruby,” she writes. The shoes themselves look elegant from sophisticated stilettos to chunky platform heels.
Shoes of Prey is an Australian start-up based in Los Angeles, known for letting clients customize their shoes using an online 3D tool. This is one of the reasons why Kim was onboard with the project. “I’m a bit of a tech geek, so the mix of fashion and technology really appeals,” she tells Marie Claire Australia. “I love the brand’s vision to bring women together through creativity, by customising their own designs, but also because we love shoes!”
Aside from Marie Claire, the collection was also featured on WWD.
This isn’t Kim’s first time to work with an international brand. She’s also worked with Louis Vuitton, Gucci, MAC Cosmetics, and Tommy Hilfiger in the past.
La Dolce Vita is a limited-edition collection available on Shoes of Prey’s website, and are priced at $244 and $274. You can also customize their style and color but they won’t have Kim Jones’ brand name on it―just something you need to know if you want this in your shoes collection. Plus, they offer free shipping to the Philippines!
