“Why does the accessory only favor my phone and not my outfit?” asks will.i.am, founder of fashionable tech company i.am+ and co-founder of Black Eyed Peas.
It has always been a struggle for will.i.am to find clothes that suit him, he said in an interview with Refinery 29. And he feels the same way with gadgets and accessories. So he thought of putting up a company that marries both fashion and technology.
One of their products that just hit the markets a few hours ago is called BUTTONS—a Bluetooth wireless earphones that look like a pair of earrings when worn (the design was inspired by vinyl records) and can turn into a necklace-of-sorts when you click the magnetized disks together. Not only can you listen to music and answer calls hands-free, you can totally look good while doing it.
Some of the faces that will.i.am tapped were Kendall Jenner, Naomi Campbell, Shaun Ross, and India Love. And their creative director and partner is no other than André Leon Talley.
These new pair of earphones are exclusively available in the Apple Store and it retails for $230. A portion of the sales will be donated to the i.am.angel Foundation.
