There’s a New Place in Town Where You Can Get Ooey-Gooey Cheese Tarts

Cheese Tarts have been gaining a steady popularity in the Philippines, especially with international brands coming in like Pablo and pretty soon, Bake. And when there is demand as high as this with only a few stores to satiate cravings (especially your own!), it can be viewed as a great business opportunity.

Enter Lava Cheese Tarts—a new spot in SM Aura where you can grab a box (or two or three) of Japanese-inspired gooey, melty cheese tarts. And the best part is that it’s completely home-grown. The cheese tarts are made with three local artisanal cheeses that make the flavors well balanced and suited to Filipino tastes. Their little café also offers a variety of locally-sourced coffee beans to enjoy with your tarts (okay, I’m totally sold!).

It was my first time to try it last night and one tip I can share is to be ready for the molten cheese to dribble past your lips—it can get messy, but definitely the good kind.

So if you’re craving for some cheese tarts and at the same time want to support local goods, then go try Lava Cheese Tarts at P80 a pop.

Lava Cheese Tarts. Lower ground floor, SM Aura, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. Open from Monday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. For more information, visit their Facebook page.
