On today’s episode of president-elect Donald Trump’s Twitter meltdowns: he’s demanding the Hamilton cast to apologize to VP-elect Mike Pence “for their terrible behavior.”
Last Nov. 18, Pence watched the show on Broadway and didn’t get the warmest of welcomes from the audience. A video caught the audience booing the VP-elect as he found his seat.

After the show, actor Brandon Victor Dixon delivered a speech directed at Pence on behalf of the cast. While it wasn’t hateful―Brandon even hoped that Pence enjoyed―it was still a powerful message that would hopefully enlighten him.
“We are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights, sir. But we truly hope this show has inspired you to uphold our American values, and work on behalf of all of us,” Brandon says.
And unlike Trump’s claim that this was “terrible behavior,” it’s actually very truthful considering that Pence is working with a possibly sexist and racist administration. But of course, Trump being his usual self, called out the cast for allegedly harassing the VP-elect.

Ironic how whenever Trump and his colleagues are being called out, an apology is demanded. But when they’re called out, they give half-meant ones and call it “locker-room talk.”
Anyway, kudos to the Hamilton cast for standing up for what’s right!
