We live in very unusual times, righted only by baby news from Beyoncé, and now from, perhaps, Ellen Adarna. The actress is dead set on having a kid by 30, even if she doesn’t find a spouse yet by that time.
“I’m turning 29 this April but I told my dad I’m gonna get pregnant when I’m 30,” says the actress. She’s one to change the definition on how a woman can have it all. “No, I don’t want to get (married)…maybe when I’m 40. Gusto ko anak muna. And I talked to my parents about it already and yeah, I just have to find a partner na good genes. [“No, I don’t want to get married..maybe when I am 40. I want a child first. And I talked to my parents about it and yeah, I just have to find a partner with good genes.]”
Ellen went on to say that she already has a baby daddy in mind, an ex-boyfriend. Which one of them, however, she did not specify.
This doesn’t mean she’s not optimistic about new love in light of her split from Baste Duterte, the Presidential son. “I’m open to dating actually. I’m almost 30, so hindi naman na I’m closing my doors. Ang sarap kayang ma-in love. Gusto kong ma-in love sa totoo lang. [I am open to dating actually. I’m almost 30 so I ‘m not closing my doors. It’s nice to fall in love. I want to fall in love.]”
She says she wants to have a kid and a husband, but like any other single lady, she doesn’t know what’s in the cards for her. She’s at least taking control of what she can’t and she’s not changing her plans any time soon just for a man. Now, that’s power, don’t you think?
