After days of speculation and hints that got the Internet abuzz with theories, US Weekly and People confirmed today that Beyoncé gave birth to twins earlier this week.
Major publications quickly picked up on the news and as of writing, #WelcomeTwinsCarters places fourth on Twitter’s worldwide trending topics. I wonder what it feels like to be that famous when you’ve barely come out of your mother’s womb, swaddled in blankets, and sleeping soundly in a crib.

The gender of the twins had yet to confimed. Complex however points out that former US President Barack Obama may have inadvertently revealed it in a video message to Jay-Z that the rapper shared as he sent out Twitter shoutouts to the people who have helped him make his latest album.

Beyoncé, 35, publicly announced her pregnancy with an Internet-breaking Instagram post that spawned a million parodies last February. The twins, much like their parents’ albums, are highly-anticipated especially as reports surfaced that Bey and Jay really tried for the past five years to give Blue Ivy some siblings. Afew weeks ago, the Carters also had a “Carter Push Party” as a baby shower for the twins.
Congratulations to the Carters! Bless the most high Queen Bey and happy father’s day to Jay-Z!
