It’s Never Too Late to Wear Some Popsicle Lips

When we were kids, we’d rub the popsicles against our lips to have an idea of what it’s like to have lipstick on. Cute kid and social media star Olivia Manzano-Reyes had that moment.

Nowadays, the idea of having popsicle-stained lips is a perennial trend especially with Korean beauty. Shunning the defined and full lips of the West, Korean beauty goes for a bright, just-sucked-on-an- ice-lolly look. It’s youthful and not-so-high-maintenance.

But you might want to skip out on eating an actual popsicle if you want to try this trend out. Sugar and calorie counting aside, we found alternatives to get the look which is appropriate for days you want to skip on liner and lipstick.

Skin Genie Lip and Cheek Stain Alive!

This local lip and cheek stain is just P80 but works just like the best of them. Made of water and glycerin, you don’t have to worry about it causing allergies as you get a lasting color. If you’re fickle when it comes to what color you like, you can opt to hoard all 13 colors they offer. Available online.

Peripera Peri’s Vivid Tint Water

In terms of cute packaging, this comes as a clear winner. It’s shaped like a fruit juice bottle. But more importantly, it gives bright colors that you can sheer down to suit your lips’ natural color. Made with fruit juice and vitamins, it also gives your lips some extra nourishment. Available at Club Clio, Trinoma Mall.

Tony Moly Delight Magic Lip Tint

If want a custom color that suits your skin tone, try this one. The clear gel changes color to your lips’ temperature so you can have that natural look on your lips like you just ate a berry. Available at SM City North EDSA.

Etude House Berry Delicious Color in Liquid Lips

This product claims to be a cross between a lip tint and a lipstick. What it means is that the color is buildable so it’s helpful if the natural pigment on your lips needs a more opaque color. The colors vary from pink to red, varying in intensity to suit your needs. Available via Althea.

Banila Co. Two Kisses Dual Tint Bright Coral

If you like to play up the popsicle stain with a little bit of a gradient lip, you can do it easily with this product. On one end, you have an emulsion tint which offers a darker color. The other one is a watery, lighter shade. Tip: For a popsicle lip, the lighter shade is reserved for the outer corners of the lip. Available at Glorietta 4.
