Last night, a small crowd (or maybe big, what do we even use as scale?) formed at Bonifacio High Street as Brooklyn Beckham dropped by the Bench Flagship Store. As people cheered and took photos of him, our local celebrities were also excited to meet the brand’s newest ambassador.
Inside the store, guests were treated to a shopping party filled with upbeat music and samples from the newly-opened Bench Café. What stood out for me was the sisig wrap with tangy calamansi foam and the pandan mojito—both of which had unexpected tastes. (Note to self: Come back to try more dishes.) Richard Gomez and Lucy Torres-Gomez were some of the many people who were sipping on cocktails and trying the snacks from time to time.
When the music picked up, dancers went around to hype up the crowd. Gabbi Garcia, Ylona Garcia, and Juliana Gomez also couldn’t help but dance along. (Check out our Instagram Stories Highlights if you want to see it in full!)
Now, for the main event of the night: meeting Brooklyn Beckham. As he entered the room and designed his own t-shirt, guests sneaked a few selfies with him. Claudia Barretto was one of them, and they looked fresh in it.

During the book signing, more photos ensued. Some personalities we spotted in line were Juliana Gomez, LA Aguinaldo, Miss Universe-Philippines 2013 Ariella Arida, and even our own managing editor Jacque De Borja.
The night ended with excited smiles as they held their signed copies of What I See. Also happy tummies thanks to the snacks and drinks. I guess that’s what you get when you meet a prodigy child like Brooklyn. Maybe next time we’ll get to meet Cole Sprouse, yes?
