It’s inevitable to notice similarities in dresses during red carpet events like the ABS-CBN Ball. For example, Vice Ganda and Jennifer Lopez had identical stained glass-inspired dresses from Michael Cinco’s Sainte Chapelle collection. Mark Bumgarner also said that he was inspired by Kendall Jenner’s birthday dress when he created Julia Barretto’s dress. It’s a matter of pointing it out without degrading another.
One comparison that was made was between Kathryn Bernardo and Marian Rivera, who both wore white halter gowns with a one-side long sleeve on separate occasions. Most of the time, things like these can escalate into unhealthy discussions where fans pit two women against each other. To stop such a situation from happening, Marian typed out a simple response to the post.
“There’s no issue if we are wearing a similar dress. [Besides,] I love Kath,” Marian said. Fans applauded the actress for showing nothing but love for Kathryn.
