Looks like pink and neutral-colored hair are going to take a backseat this holiday season. There are two major hair color trend predictions, and they are apt for Christmas. Seriously.
As autumn rolled in at the other side of the globe, Allure reported that getting red and auburn hair would be the best change you should do. You know, to match with the warm-toned foliage. Specifically, they called the shade “flannel,” which can range from copper to deep mulled wine shades. Think Emma Stone and Julianne Moore’s iconic red hair.
Likewise, many Instagram girls were spotted sporting various shades of red hair—from light strawberry blonde to striking red velvet. So you have no excuse to not try this color because there’s a spectrum that’ll match with any skin tone.
The next hair color is, you guessed it, green—specifically, neon green. Now, we know this isn’t exactly a subtle, wearable shade to put on your head. Kim Kardashian, Nicki Minaj, SZA, and more took the plunge this year, so why shouldn’t you? The obnoxious slime green trend recently became big after all.
However, if your workplace doesn’t allow over-the-top hair color, it might be best to choose something reddish instead of neon green for obvious reasons. We suggest a wine shade that looks subtle but pops when the light hits your hair.
Just like with pink hair, these colors will take lots of patience and commitment to maintain. You’ll need to ask your hairstylist what products you should switch up to keep the color vibrant, as well as ask when you should come in for a retouch.
